Today I decided to switch from Joomla to WordPress. I’ve been using Joomla for a few years now. Back when I started using this CMS, it was pretty much equal to the then blogging focused WordPress. For a long time I debated with myself about which platform should I use for my website. The reason why I went with Joomla back then, believe it or not, was because I liked the way the template system worked better than WordPress. I found it easier to go from one HTML template to the CMS template because it is actually a single file. I still think this way is better than making the header, footer, and other parts and saving them in different files. Oh well, I’ll get used to it.

So the reason why I’m going with WordPress after all this year’s is simple. It is what’s in. If I want to be able to compete in the world I’ll have to know WordPress. It’s like the Apple products the CMS world, note that I am not an Apple user. Joomla is slowly fading away, sad.

I am underway (out at sea) so for now all I’ll do is read a book I downloaded on my last port visit. Whenever I get home I will download and install WordPress in my test server. Let’s see how it goes.
