Hi everyone. I am still roaming the seas onboard the USCGC Seneca. I'm having a pretty good time. Oh, the seas, the sky, the cold, the fog, the fog, the fog… Hahaha… Well, we were supposed to return to our homeport in Boston, MA on Saturday but there is a problem: Hurricane Earl. We will have to stay for at least two more days at sea. The plan is to anchor (using both anchors) somewhere and just take it, pretty simple right? We are expecting waves of 20ft or more and maximum sustained wind speed of 111kt (130mph) with gusts up to 135kt (155mph). The reason is that is easier to go in a SAR (Search & Rescue) mission if we are already outside. We have to keep our motto: Semper Paratus (Always Ready). I will be taking pictures for the Public Affairs Officer during the hurricane and I will publish some in the USCGC Seneca Blog (sorry, is not ready yet) and my blog (as soon as I can). Yes, I'll be carefull. Don't worry, if anything happens we'll call the Coast Guard…
